Attorney Brenda D. Colbert, LL.M, CELA received her undergraduate degree from Mansfield University in 1990 and her law degree from Touro Law Center where she graduated magna cum laude.

Unlike most attorneys who immediately begin working in a firm, Ms. Colbert immediately went on to pursue an advanced legal degree (LL.M) in Estate Planning from the University of Miami. Attorneys, like Colbert, who pursue an LL.M are working to develop a more concentrated expertise in a particular area of law. She is also a Board Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation under Authorization of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The CELA certification, held by less than 50 attorneys in the state, requires an in-depth, working knowledge of the complex estate and long term care issues that landowners face once royalty checks become a reality. With the sophisticated nature of estate planning for royalty owners, Attorney Colbert’s advanced degree and CELA certification have become an invaluable asset to our landowner clients.

Attorney Colbert is an active member of various community and professional organizations throughout northeast Pennsylvania. She is also the Team Captain for the firm’s Alzheimer’s Memory Walk Team, which is consistently one of the top corporate fundraisers for the Walk each year.

She and her husband, Mark, a school teacher, reside in Moosic.
